Why Neurokiln

What shapes how this school works

Workload stated before enrolment

Each stage lists median and upper-quartile hours from previous cohorts. You read the numbers before committing, not after.

Stages build in sequence

The schedule goes from data handling to model construction to a live brief. Each stage is designed so the next one has somewhere to stand.

Written feedback on every exercise

Exercises are returned with written notes, not just a score. The feedback covers what worked, what to revisit and a specific suggestion for the next attempt.

A mentor stays with you through Stage 2

The model building stage assigns a mentor for its full fourteen weeks. The same person reviews your milestones and answers questions through the office-hours slot.

Stage 3 uses a real partner brief

The practitioner stage works through requirements from an actual partner organisation. The final presentation is delivered to that partner, not to an internal panel.

Based in George Town, delivered online

The school is registered and reachable in Penang. Sessions are online so learners across Malaysia can attend without travel, while remaining connected to a local point of contact.

Common questions

What people usually ask before enrolling

Do I need a programming background to start Stage 1?
Stage 1 is written for people arriving from spreadsheets and data analysis roles rather than software engineering. Familiarity with Excel or basic SQL is enough to follow the material from the first week. You do not need prior Python experience.
Can I join Stage 2 without completing Stage 1?
Yes. Stage 2 is open to anyone who already writes production Python and is comfortable with data wrangling. There is a self-check quiz available before enrolment so you can assess your own readiness honestly. We will review your background and advise accordingly before confirming your place.
How many hours per week does each stage require?
Stage 1 runs at eight hours per week over six weeks. Stage 2 runs at twelve hours per week over fourteen weeks. Stage 3 runs at fifteen hours per week over twenty weeks in teams of three. These figures are median values reported by previous cohorts — not a minimum estimate. Some learners spend more time, particularly on project work in Stages 2 and 3.
What is included in the stage fee?
Each stage fee covers access to recorded sessions, live sessions, written feedback on exercises, and an office-hours slot per week. Stage 2 also includes GPU credits and a dedicated mentor. Stage 3 includes the partner brief, a named partner contact, two architecture reviews, cost modelling workshops, presentation coaching and the final presentation session.
What does the completion record contain?
The completion record lists the topics covered in the stage you completed. For Stage 3 it also describes the delivered work. It is an internal document issued by Neurokiln. It is not an externally accredited qualification and should not be described as one.
Are the live sessions recorded?
Recorded sessions are included in all stages. Live sessions are recorded and made available to enrolled learners within 48 hours where technical conditions allow. Sessions involving external partner contacts in Stage 3 may not be recorded, depending on the partner's preference.
How do I pay? Is payment in Malaysian Ringgit?
All fees are quoted and collected in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Payment details are provided after your enrolment enquiry is reviewed and confirmed. We do not collect payment through this website. Contact us via the form below or by phone to begin the process.
