Methodology

How the stages connect

The three stages are not independent short courses. Each one leaves learners in a position where the next stage has a foundation to build on, and the gaps that would otherwise appear in Stage 2 or Stage 3 were addressed in the stage before.

Stage 1 is not a general introduction to Python. It is specifically a preparation for model building work — the statistics needed to read a model's output without deceiving yourself, the notebook discipline that Stage 2 milestones will expect, and the data handling that feature construction in Stage 2 depends on.

Stage 3 then places Stage 2 capability inside the kind of constraints an engineering team actually operates under: data access that is limited, costs that are a factor in architecture decisions, and a partner contact who attends reviews and asks questions.

Prerequisite self-check before each stage

A quiz scored locally in the browser helps you assess readiness. No data is sent anywhere. It is for your decision-making, not ours.

Workload published before cohort opens

Median and upper-quartile hours from the previous cohort for that stage are published before enrolment opens. The figures come from learner self-reports.

Completion records describe work, not status

The document issued lists what was covered and, in Stage 3, describes the delivered work. It is not an externally accredited award.

Preparation Stage in Python and Data Handling

RM 540 · 6 weeks · 8 hrs/week

A six-week preparation stage covering Python fundamentals for data work, NumPy and pandas, version control, notebook discipline and the statistics needed to read a model's output without deceiving yourself. Written for career changers and analysts arriving from spreadsheets rather than software. One live session weekly.

What is included

  • Recorded sessions for all topics
  • One live session per week
  • Weekly exercises with written feedback
  • Self-check quiz before the stage begins
  • Weekly office-hours slot
  • Completion record listing topics covered

Best for: Analysts, operations and research professionals with spreadsheet backgrounds who want to begin working with Python and data before attempting model work.

Stage 02
Medium–high intensity

Model Building Stage

RM 2,190 · 14 weeks · 12 hrs/week

A fourteen-week stage covering neural network fundamentals, training loops written from scratch before framework use, convolutional and attention architectures, regularisation, dataset construction and structured error analysis on the learner's own project. Suited to those who have finished Stage 1 or who already write production Python. Twice-weekly live sessions.

What is included

  • GPU credits for the duration of the stage
  • Twice-weekly live sessions
  • Three reviewed milestones with written feedback
  • A named mentor for the full 14 weeks
  • Cohort study groups
  • Completion record with project attached

Best for: Stage 1 completers and working engineers who write production Python and want to build and evaluate their own neural network project.

Practitioner Stage with Industry Brief

RM 4,180 · 20 weeks · 15 hrs/week · teams of 3

A twenty-week stage in which learners work through a brief supplied by a partner organisation, covering requirement analysis, data access constraints, model selection under cost limits, evaluation design, deployment and a written handover to the partner. Aimed at learners preparing to work inside an engineering team. Run in teams of three.

What is included

  • Partner brief and a named partner contact
  • Weekly mentor sessions
  • Two architecture reviews
  • Cost modelling workshops
  • Presentation coaching
  • Final presentation to the partner
  • Completion record describing the delivered work

Best for: Stage 2 completers and experienced ML engineers preparing to contribute inside an engineering team on a defined project with organisational constraints.

Shared standards

What applies across all three stages

Data and privacy

Learner data handled under Malaysia's PDPA 2010. Completion records issued to the named learner only.

Written feedback standard

All submitted work receives written notes — what worked, what to revisit, a specific suggestion — returned within five working days.

Cohort scheduling

Cohort dates and workload figures from the previous group are published together when a cohort opens. Contact us to be notified of the next opening.

Office-hours slot weekly

Each stage includes a weekly office-hours slot where questions are addressed live with a teaching team member or mentor.

Recorded session access

Live sessions are recorded and made available to enrolled learners within 48 hours where technical conditions allow. Some Stage 3 sessions may not be recorded, subject to partner preference.

Completion record accuracy

Records list topics covered and, in Stage 3, the delivered work. They do not claim any accreditation that does not exist.
